🔹Despite withdrawing the controversial proposal to establish a commercial company for the sale of World Cup shares, pressure on the 56-year-old Italian-Swiss executive continues to grow.

🔹Strong UEFA opposition and that of some member federations, along with a retreat by key figures such as Arsène Wenger and even Matthias Grafström, FIFA’s number two, have made Infantino’s position even more precarious. This fragility is unfolding at a time when he had, not long ago, considered his re-election as certain.

🔹While the next FIFA presidential election is expected to be held in Morocco next March, Infantino’s main aim in convening this emergency session is to examine ways to get out of the crisis, win back the trust of protesters, and repair his political position to keep his chair—an objective that, given the deep divisions he has created, seems very difficult to achieve.
