Abdulatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s foreign minister, spoke by phone with Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s foreign minister, about regional developments and regional and international efforts to reduce tensions and strengthen security and stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, the two sides also discussed reopening the Strait of Hormuz for shipping “in such a way as to ensure the safety and security of navigation and to safeguard the rights and interests of the countries of the region and the world in accordance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.”
