🔻According to Fars News Agency, the football team of Persepolis, which is in Turkey to hold its pre-season training camp, intended to play Kuwait’s Al-Arabi in a friendly match; however, this match was ultimately canceled due to “regional issues.”
🔹On the eve of this match, Al-Arabi club officials, by announcing that due to some “regional issues” it was not possible to hold the game, withdrew from the field. One of the officials of Persepolis club told Fars News Agency: “The representative of the Kuwaiti team explicitly stated that holding this friendly match would not have good consequences for them in their country.”
🔹In the past few weeks, Kuwait has repeatedly been targeted by attacks by the Islamic Republic. In the latest report regarding this type of attacks, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Islamic Republic’s drone attacks on Kuwait in the early hours of Saturday, 10 Mordad, and called them an overt violation of national sovereignty and a direct threat to regional security and stability.
