Kamran Ghadinefari, a member of the Majles Committee on Internal Affairs, in an interview with Iran Watch, said that the claim about “releasing the Strait of Hormuz management in exchange for lifting sanctions” “does not match reality.”

This member of parliament said: “This issue was raised in the 14-point proposal a few months ago, but the Americans struck it down and, in a sense, tore it up.”

Ghadinefari added that there had been no naval blockade before the negotiations, but it was imposed a few days after the naval talks.

He said: “This damage began after the negotiations. Before the negotiations, sanctions existed, but when these gentlemen started negotiations, over the past three months, new sanctions were added to the previous ones. During the negotiations, not only was no money from the blocked assets released, but they also seized and confiscated our digital currencies.”

Ghadinefari stated that the only benefit of these negotiations had been that the Islamic Republic has repeatedly suffered losses and damage. He added that those who continue to insist on negotiations and move forward in a stalemate should explain the logic and reasoning behind their position.

He said: “The details of the negotiations and the issue of the Strait of Hormuz must be raised in the form of questions from the foreign minister.”
