🔻France’s government seeks to end students’ protests
France’s Minister of Higher Education said he will continue talks with students’ representatives in order to end nationwide protests over school conditions.
Philippe Baptiste said he will meet with protesters on Friday to discuss their demands, including allocating more resources to the education system.
At the same time, he condemned violence that occurred in some areas during the protests.
As a result of these unrests, more than 400 schools across France are closed today, and the activities of 40 universities have also been affected.
On Thursday, police arrested 2,000 people while students blocked school entrances.
The students protested overcrowded classrooms and the deterioration of educational facilities. At least two schools were also set on fire during these protests.
