🔶 LNG ships transit through Hormuz at the highest level of the war

The passage of LNG-carrying ships through the Strait of Hormuz last month reached the highest level since the start of the war between the United States, Israel and Iran; a sign that some analysts say points to the gradual revival of part of the energy flow through this strategic waterway.

According to Reuters, citing data from S&P Global Energy, 19 LNG-carrying ships transited the Strait of Hormuz in September.

This figure is the highest monthly level since the start of the Iran war, and is higher than June; a month in which, under the framework of the ceasefire understandings between Iran and the United States, 15 LNG ships had transited the strait.

Based on these data, of the total 19 ships last month, 13 had departed from Qatar and 6 from the United Arab Emirates.

Based on data from the company Kpler, 21 LNG ships transited the Strait of Hormuz last month.

Although the Kpler and S&P figures do not match, both sets of data show that the transit of LNG-carrying ships through Hormuz has increased compared with June.
