🔶 Four injured after shooting in Cologne
Following a shooting in the “Mülheim” area in the north of the German city of Cologne, four people were injured, some of them reported to be in critical condition. According to the police, at around 10 p.m. on Monday, July 3 (12 Mordad), an altercation and argument between several people took place in this area, and the shooting then occurred in the street and in public.
Police investigations and evidence collection are still ongoing, and it is not yet known who the perpetrator or perpetrators of the shooting were. In addition, it is still unclear what the motive behind the shooting was and how many shots were fired.
A police spokesperson announced on Tuesday morning that there is no danger threatening citizens. According to the police, the four injured from the incident—who are now being treated in hospital—have been placed in custody as “witnesses and, at the same time, suspects.”
Mülheim is one of Cologne’s neighborhoods, known for having the highest crime rate.
