🔻Farzaneh Fasehi, an Iranian female runner and a member of this country’s national team, wrote in a message that she published on her personal page on Instagram that, despite having a quota, she has been prevented from registering for the World Championships.
She wrote: “While I was the only athlete from Iran who had earned a spot for the world competition and had finished the season as the first-ranked athlete in the Asian rankings, they prevented my registration and took the most basic right from me.”
In another part of her message, Ms. Fasehi referred to this issue and wrote that, after the events of recent months, she had been warned: “Be careful with your behavior! You know that the World Championships and the Asian Games are ahead.”
She continued: “For months now, I have been taking legal steps to pursue my rights, and I will never allow my right as a female Iranian athlete to be violated.”
Ms. Fasehi added: “I will keep running—for my people, for my dreams.”
Farzaneh Fasehi is the record-holder in Iran for the 60-meter dash and an Asian champion.
After the massacre in Dey 1404, she had reacted to the killing of protesters.
