🔶 The European Union strongly condemned the escalation of the Houthis’ military actions in Yemen and their attacks on Saudi Arabia, especially attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The EU also announced its solidarity with the internationally supported government of Yemen and Saudi Arabia on Monday, November 2.
In a statement released by the office of Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, the union emphasized the need for an immediate halt to all Houthi military actions.
The statement said: “We call on all parties, including Iran, to stop any military support to the Houthis, which constitutes a violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.”
The EU further reiterated its commitment to the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Yemen, and promised to increase its support for the legal, recognized Yemeni government.
This support will focus in particular on advancing reforms and addressing the worsening conditions in the country in terms of economic, humanitarian, and human rights situation.
