🔻End of voting time in some electoral districts in eastern U.S.

About an hour ago, the deadline for voting in some districts in the eastern United States ended one by one. At 7 p.m. Eastern Time, more polling places in states such as Florida, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia will close.

Some of these races are being held in districts whose seats are considered almost certain; meaning that Democrats or Republicans are expected to win quickly and with confidence.

The announcement of results in close contests may take longer, but we will follow them closely to assess the overall trend of the election.

These races include the following:

In Florida: the 14th and 25th congressional districts, whose boundaries have recently been redrawn, and whose results could determine which party wins in the election for the decisive House of Representatives. In South Carolina: a close race for the Senate seat between Senator Lindsey Graham and Annie Andrews, the Democratic candidate, is underway. This seat became vacant after the death of Lindsey Graham, the Republican senator and brother of Lindsey Graham, and Republicans are trying to keep it.
