As the sun sets on the U.S. East Coast and in parts of the country’s vast interior, voting has been announced as concluded in the states of Connecticut, Alabama, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, D.C., Mississippi, Kansas, and Tennessee.
