🔻Democrats hope to turn Iowa from red to blue

🔻Voting has begun in Des Moines, the capital of the state of Iowa— a state that in the most recent election largely voted for Republicans, and Democrats are hoping that this time they can turn it from red to blue.

At the same time, the U.S. midterm elections are being seen as a test of Donald Trump’s performance in his second term as president.

Dissatisfaction with the state of the economy and rising cost of living are among the main concerns of voters. Democrats blame the Trump administration for the economic problems in the United States, while Republicans reject these criticisms and say that voting for Democrats means supporting extremists.

So far, 58 million Americans across the country have taken part in early voting; a figure that is considered a record for early turnout in the U.S. midterm elections.
