Diesel fuel shortage crisis worldwide; the United States warns France and Germany about import cuts

🔸After the oil crisis due to the incomplete reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, for a few weeks now, a shortage of diesel has turned into a serious crisis in the United States, Europe, and other parts of the world.

🔸So serious is this crisis that, according to a report by Reuters, the United States warned Germany and France and threatened them that, if they do not release diesel fuel from their strategic reserves, they may face a ban on importing diesel from the United States.

🔸One of Reuters’ sources in Europe said that Washington has asked European countries to put 120 million barrels from their strategic reserves onto the market within the next six months.

🔸Earlier reports had also been published about the possibility of the United States banning diesel exports to various countries around the world in order to reduce its price inside the United States.

🔸According to a report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, refineries in this country produce between four and five million barrels of diesel per day and export between 1.2 million and 1.5 million barrels.

🔸Russia has also extended its diesel export ban directive until the end of October, fueling the fuel crisis. Russia is the world’s largest diesel exporter after the United States, but the war in Ukraine and the targeting of Russian refineries have led to a reduction in the production volume of oil derivatives.
