Trump: Europe agreed to inject a significant amount of diesel into the market
🔸Following pressure from the White House, European countries agreed to release part of their emergency diesel reserves with the aim of regulating the energy market and controlling rising prices.
🔸Donald Trump, the president of the United States, announced this on Friday, the 10th of Mehr, in a short message on his social network, Truth Social.
🔸In the message, the U.S. president wrote: “Europe has agreed to release the bulk of its massive diesel reserves. This decision will be implemented immediately.”
🔸On Friday morning, member countries of the European Union had reviewed France’s proposal in this regard. Under the Paris proposal, European countries must release 50 million barrels from their emergency reserves, while the members of the International Energy Agency must also bring 50 million barrels of crude oil into the market at the same time.
🔸Under the proposed plan that had been discussed among European countries, Europe would put its share of diesel into the market during a 20-day period in response to Donald Trump’s request.
🔸The Élysée Palace confirmed that Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, held a video conference with the leaders of the G7 group on Friday evening, a meeting in which the energy market situation was assessed. It is not yet clear whether the G7 members agreed to the amount mentioned in France’s proposal for injecting diesel into the market.
