🔸 Despite rising hopes for reaching an end to clashes between Israel and Palestinian groups, Gaza aid officials said that Israeli airstrikes for the second day in a row hit different areas of the region on Sunday, the 11th of Mordad, killing at least 18 Palestinians.

🔸 According to Palestinian health officials, since Sunday morning, Israeli fighter jets targeted Gaza City in the north, Deir al-Balah in the center, and the Khan Younis area in the south of the Gaza Strip, leaving the highest number of daily casualties in recent weeks.

🔸 This comes as U.S. President Donald Trump said there has been progress in efforts to implement last year’s ceasefire agreement.

🔸 Trump had announced on Thursday that the extremist group Hamas, which is listed by the European Union and the United States as a terrorist organization, and other Palestinian armed groups have agreed to disarm; remarks that increased hopes for creating a turning point in efforts to end the fighting.
