🔺Central Bank: Point-to-point inflation reached 84 percent
◾ The Central Bank of the Islamic Republic said that the index of consumer goods and services prices in urban areas in Tir reached 742.8, showing a 3.6 percent increase compared to the previous month. In Khordad, this figure was 7.4 percent. Inflation in Khordad was the highest rate since the period of Iran’s occupation during World War II.
◾ The year-on-year inflation rate ending in Tir also reached 61.4 percent.
◾ The most important factor in the decline of monthly inflation was the drop in the index for the food and beverage group, which fell from 8.7 percent in Khordad to 1.8 percent in Tir. This group has the largest share in the consumption basket of low-income households. In contrast, services groups such as health and medical care and housing continued to have high monthly growth.
