British energy giant BP (one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies) announced that its net profit in the second quarter of 2026, as energy prices rose amid the war between the United States and the Islamic Republic, has more than doubled and reached $3.91 billion.
CBS, citing Agence France-Presse, wrote that five major Western energy companies, including BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, Shell, and TotalEnergies, together recorded nearly $47 billion in net profit in the second quarter of 2026.
