After US authorities raided her home in the early hours of Monday morning (Octobert 12), Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar took to social media to say she "will not be silenced". Omar has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump and has been the target of insults from the Republican president.

The Justice department says the raid is part of an ongoing investigation. People familiar with the investigation say it is related to alleged immigration fraud and part of a probe into the Somalian-born lawmaker's paperwork. Omar says it "just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation."
