US President Donald Trump joked about Iran bombing the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego during a campaign rally in Grand Island, Nebraska.

"They could take out a city," Trump says of Iran. "Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego."

He also repeated affirmations that the war in Iran would be over very soon, saying "it's essentially over with". The president initially stated that the military campaign in Iran would last four to six weeks, however the conflict has now been stretched to over seven months.
