An IRGC-affiliated news agency claimed that there is no agreement regarding reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and that the reports published in this regard are “false.”

Earlier, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that what led Donald Trump, the U.S. president, to cancel the planned attack on the Islamic Republic was Abbas Araqchi, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic, announcing agreement on a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The outlet, citing two informed diplomats, added that under this agreement—arranged by Qatar and the United States—ships would enter the Persian Gulf from the direction controlled by the Islamic Republic and exit the Strait of Hormuz from the Oman side.

However, the IRGC-aligned Fars News Agency, without referring to the name of Channel 12, denied the report by attributing it to “a source close to the nuclear negotiating team.”

Fars also, citing a military source, claimed: “Until the hostile actions by the United States continue, the Strait of Hormuz will remain blocked, and the passage of vessels will only be possible through the route announced, with permission from the IRGC Navy.”
