🔻A collector paid a record-breaking $12.26 million for the jersey Michael Jordan wore in the 1998 NBA Finals. Jordan wore this white lace jersey in Game 3 of the Finals against the Utah Jazz.
🔹According to CBS, this jersey is the only white version known to be publicly available from Jordan’s winning games in the 1998 Finals that has been put up for sale so far.
🔹The jersey is now also considered the most expensive basketball jersey ever sold at auction, breaking a record previously held by another one of Jordan’s jerseys.
🔹The Chicago Bulls lost Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, but won Game 2 in the same arena. Jordan scored 37 points in that game and wore a pair of Air Jordan shoes that were sold at auction in 2023 for $2.2 million.
🔹In Game 3 and after returning to the United Center, the Bulls defeated the Utah Jazz decisively, 96-54.
🔹The Bulls won the 1998 NBA Finals 4-2 in six games, securing their sixth NBA title in eight years.
