🔸Germany detains a suspect for membership in “ISIS”
Germany’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office announced that federal criminal police in the country arrested a man on Wednesday, 8 Mehr (30 September), on suspicion of membership in the so-called “ISIS” group in the Waldeck-Frankenberg area in northern the state of Hesse.
The person, whom the prosecutor’s office referred to as “Nouri A.”, was born in Kuwait. According to judicial authorities, he joined ISIS in Iraq at the latest by January 2016 and worked as a fighter in different units of the group until spring 2017. These allegations have not yet been proven in court.
An arrest warrant for the suspected individual had been issued earlier, on 14 September, by a judge of the Federal Court.
Germany’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office has charged him with membership in a terrorist organization abroad.
After being transferred to the Federal Court in Karlsruhe, “Nouri A.” was sent to prison under an order of temporary detention.
