🔶 Yemen’s Houthis claim a missile attack on southern Saudi Arabia

The Houthis, who are backed by Iran, after accusing Saudi Arabia of targeting their “non-military infrastructure” in Yemen, claimed an attack on the city of Jizan in southern Saudi Arabia.

In a message posted on the Telegram messaging app, the Houthis said they were responsible for the missile attack on Jizan.

According to reports, earlier the Saudi-led coalition had targeted the Houthis’ military objectives in Hodeidah.

Media outlets affiliated with the Houthis reported that two people were injured in connection with the same incident. The attacks were carried out after the Houthis announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s largest oil producers, and targeted ships belonging to the country.

A Houthi security source told Agence France-Presse that, in the coalition attack led by Saudi Arabia, a naval base in the port city of Hodeidah and a military camp on the island of Kamran were targeted.

After the Strait of Hormuz was shut, which is of great importance to global trade, Saudi Arabia transferred its oil export route to the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
