🔸The Football Association of Wales became the first FIFA member to officially withdraw its support for Gianni Infantino for re-election as FIFA president.

The Football Association of England is also expected to do the same soon.

The FIFA president is under heavy criticism due to a proposal to sell part of the rights to the World Cup and other FIFA competitions to private investors. This proposal has now been canceled.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has said that if Infantino does not resign, it will move forward with a no-confidence vote against him. UEFA has also threatened to file a legal complaint and asked FIFA to preserve all related documents and evidence.

Mr. Infantino sparked widespread criticism after FIFA reversed a ban on Folarin Balogun, the U.S. national team forward, during the World Cup at Donald Trump’s request.
