🔶 Vučić resigns from the presidency of Serbia

Aleksandar Vučić, President of Serbia, has resigned from his position as expected. The reason for this resignation is the holding of early parliamentary elections in Serbia on October 25. In these elections, Vučić is the main candidate of the Progressive Party.

If he wins the election, Vučić intends to become prime minister again. Vučić previously held this post from 2014 to 2017.

Since then, Vučić has been the president of Serbia, but in spite of this, he continues to largely steer the country’s political scene on his own.

Vučić’s term as president would have ended normally next year. After that, since he has served two terms in this role, he can no longer run for president.
