🔻Reuters, citing several sources, reports that Iran will receive, within the next few weeks, up to 400 Chinese shoulder-fired missile systems.

Three sources familiar with the deal told Reuters that Iran is expected to receive the first shipment of these Chinese systems within the next few weeks.

According to these sources, the value of the contract is between $60 million and $70 million and it is considered one of Iran’s largest efforts to strengthen its short-range air defense.

Reuters reports that the deal includes the purchase of between 300 and 400 transportable air-defense systems manufactured in China.

According to “sources familiar” with the contract, although this arms agreement has been signed, there is a possibility of changes in the delivery process, the number of systems, and other operational details.

They also said that, under the plan, the systems will first be delivered via air shipment from Ürümqi in western China and then via Pakistan to Iran.

A European security source told Reuters that officials in his country have been aware of several potential sale contracts for the secret “QW” shoulder-fired missile systems to Iran.
