🔶Ukraine drone attack on Moscow on the final day of Russia’s elections

Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, accused Ukraine of attempting to disrupt the country’s election process on the eve of the last day of Russia’s parliamentary elections, through extensive drone attacks as the election period, which ends today, Sunday, September 20 (29 Shahrivar).

The mayor of Moscow, referring to Ukraine’s nighttime attacks, wrote in a Telegram message: “This unprecedented attack was clearly carried out with the aim of sabotaging the elections. However, the enemy failed to achieve this goal.”

Sobyanin said it was the “most extensive drone attack by the enemy on Moscow,” and announced that the attack was repelled. According to him, since the day before yesterday, Russia has tracked and repelled 1,600 drones, 450 of which were in the path of approaching the capital.

However, according to the Moscow mayor, some of the drones made their way into the area of an oil refinery, and one of them also fell onto a residential building, but the attacks caused no casualties. The operations of all four airports in the capital have also faced restrictions.
