🔸Reopening schools amid the absence of students, victims of repression and war

Catching sight of small shoes left behind among the ashes of war and repression is a bitter testament to the stark reality of these days: hundreds of students will never return to their desks.

Children whose names are recorded not in the class attendance registers, but in the painful blacklists of casualties resulting from war and repression are the first victims of crises they had no role in creating.

An airstrike and the firing of two Tomahawk missiles at the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in Minab in Esfand 1404 (March 2026), dealt the most horrifying tragedy: an event that took the lives of 168 children in a single moment. The report of the UN’s fact-finding commission described it as a blind, indiscriminate attack due to severe neglect and failure to follow the principles of distinction and precaution, and stated that the United States, with this action, committed a war crime.
