🔶 New York Times: Trump stopped attacks on the Houthis at the last moment

The New York Times has reported that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, after ordering the Pentagon to prepare for airstrikes against the Houthis, changed his mind and decided not to carry out the decision.

In a report published on Sunday, September 20 (29 Shahrivar), the newspaper wrote that in recent weeks Trump had been hesitant about accepting Saudi Arabia’s request for military assistance to counter the Houthis, but after a call from Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of the country, and after this request was repeated to Trump on Thursday, September 17, he ordered the Pentagon to prepare to attack the Houthis. However, by Sunday, September 20, Trump once again changed his position and backed away from carrying out these strikes.

Citing officials of the Trump administration, the New York Times wrote that at least for the time being, no airstrikes by the United States against the Houthis will be carried out.
