UK prime minister says a return to the European Union is possible; welcomed by European leaders

🔸British Prime Minister said on Wednesday, 8 Mehr, that the possibility of Britain returning to the European Union has been presented as a “realistic option.”

🔸Andy Burnham is the first prime minister of the UK after Brexit who has publicly spoken about the country rejoining the European Union.

🔸The UK prime minister said his centre-left government is prepared, after a careful review of the pros and cons of all the options available regarding London’s relationship with Brussels, to propose Britain’s re-membership in the European Union if the majority of the country’s people so desire.

🔸He emphasized during the Labour Party’s annual conference on Tuesday night that he personally believes Britain has been harmed more by Brexit than it has benefited from it. The prime minister also said that leaving the European Union has led to “a decade of reduced economic growth in Britain,” and that it is time for “Britain to decide on its long-term relationship with its largest trading partner.”

🔸Andy Burnham promised to develop “various options” for the future of the relationship with Europe before a scheduled meeting with the 27 EU members, which is set to be held soon.
