🔻 UK police said the five men arrested near RAF Fairford are British citizens and residents of London.

Previously, the police had said the individuals were detained on suspicion of offenses related to explosive materials and terrorism.

In a statement, the police said that after reviewing the scene of the security incident, several new lines of inquiry had been identified and officers were trying to determine the men’s motive.

The RAF Fairford military base in the southwest of England is the only headquarters for the United States’ heavy bomber force in Europe.

On 1st Mordad, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in a statement, referred to the United States’ use of the Fairford air base to attack Iran and warned that “any base used to invade Iranian soil is a legitimate target for our forces.”
