The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Organization announced that a tanker has reported to this body that in the Strait of Hormuz it was “hit by an unidentified projectile and disabled.”

According to this report, the incident occurred about 16 kilometers northeast of the Al-Shisheh area in waters off Oman.

In a statement late on Monday, the second of Shahrivar, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization said: “The captain of a tanker reported that this vessel was hit by an unidentified projectile that resulted in damage to the engine room and the ship becoming disabled.”

According to the organization, the ship’s crew are “in full health.”

Yesterday, the UK Maritime Trade Operations Organization had announced that commercial traffic in the Strait of Hormuz over the past 48 hours remained at a low level.
