The foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Britain, France and Germany will discuss regional clashes in Istanbul 🔻 Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s foreign minister, on Friday in Istanbul will host his counterparts from Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Britain, France and Germany to discuss regional clashes. A Turkish diplomatic source told Reuters this. According to the source, the seven countries are coming together in such a format for the first time at Turkey’s initiative. Wars related to Iran, Yemen and Ukraine, as well as concerns about the situation of shipping routes and regional security, were cited as reasons for holding the meeting. The source said it is expected that the foreign ministers of these seven countries will discuss the dispute between Israel and the Palestinians, the latest developments in the Strait of Hormuz, the situation in Yemen, efforts to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, and opportunities to expand cooperation between the countries of the region and Europe. According to the source, Fidan is expected to stress the need to find a diplomatic solution to the US-Iran war and the importance of freedom of navigation in the straits of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb. Fidan also once again emphasized Turkey’s support for Saudi Arabia’s security against attacks by Yemen’s Houthis. The diplomatic source added that Turkey’s foreign minister will also tell his counterparts that Ankara has been working to prevent the expansion of the Ukraine war into the Black Sea and will point to the risks of this conflict for regional security. Although in recent months Turkey has not stepped in as the main mediator in talks between Iran and the United States, it has played a prominent role in launching diplomatic processes to end the 12-day and 40-day war.
