The UK Maritime Trade Operations Center, in its weekly report, announced that over the past seven days, 12 ships in the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf, and the Oman Sea were targeted by attacks—10 of them in the Strait of Hormuz, one in the Persian Gulf, and one in the Oman Sea.
According to the report, which was published on Friday, 24 Mehr, one of the targeted ships sank; two ships aborted their journey; and six ships continued on their route or reached port. The status of the other three ships, in terms of the extent of damage or the outcome of the attack, is not yet known.
The center said that most of the ships targeted by the attacks are not willing to submit incident reports, and for this reason, determining the actual number of attacks is difficult.
Based on this report, since 9 Esfand 1404 to date, 135 maritime incidents related to clashes between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States have been recorded, and 76 people have been killed or injured in these incidents.
The UK Maritime Trade Operations Center also said that ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz remains about 70% lower than the level before the start of the war. Over the past seven days, 125 ships have exited the strait and 129 ships have entered it.
