🔶 U.S. warning to its citizens in the Middle East about Houthi attacks and threats from Iran
The U.S. State Department has asked its citizens across the Middle East to increase their level of alertness and caution due to the rising risk of armed attacks by Yemen’s Houthis, as well as Iran’s efforts to target U.S. government officials in the region.
In a message the ministry posted on its X account, it also warned travelers about the possibility of flight cancellations, the closure of airspace, and other travel disruptions, and recommended that American citizens carefully follow each country’s specific security warnings.
For travel to Saudi Arabia or departure from that country, the U.S. State Department described the use of private vehicles, trains, and buses as alternatives to air travel.
The warning was issued as concerns have grown about the possible resumption of U.S. military actions against Iran and about an escalation of Houthi attacks in the region.
