🔶 Coalition led by Saudi Arabia: We intercepted the Houthis’ missile over Riyadh

A Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen announced on Saturday, November 7, that its air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile launched by the Houthis and moving toward the Riyadh area.

Turki Al Maliki, the coalition’s spokesman, said in a post on the X social network: “Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile fired by the terrorist Houthi militias toward the Riyadh area.”

The announcement comes as fighting and tensions between the Saudi-led coalition and Yemen’s Houthi group continue to increase.

Saudi Arabia has led a military coalition since 2015 that supports the internationally recognized Yemeni government against the Houthis. The Houthis, a year earlier—i.e., in 2014—took control of Sana’a, the Yemeni capital, and other parts of the country.
