🔸U.S. President says that America has limited contact with Iran and that instead of ordering a new military operation, it is seeking to increase economic pressure on Iran.
🔸Donald Trump said on Sunday, 18 Mordad, in an interview with the website Axios that Iran is economically “in a very bad situation” and does not have money to pay its forces.
🔸He emphasized that the U.S. naval blockade has exacerbated the economic crisis of the Iranian government.
🔸The U.S. president said he intends to increase economic pressure on Iran instead of ordering a new military operation.
🔸These remarks come as the United States last week, on the verge of resuming widespread military attacks against Iran, did so due to not reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
🔸Axios says Trump did not raise any new military threat in the interview with the website.
🔸He also did not express anger or dissatisfaction that Iran has delayed announcing the agreement with Oman to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
