🔺Investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice into a British payments network suspected of violating anti-money laundering regulations

▪The U.S. Department of Justice is scrutinizing a network of companies surrounding a British payment institution that British officials seized in early June this year over concerns about violations of anti-money laundering rules.

▪According to Bloomberg, the ministry has asked court-appointed managers overseeing the liquidation of Euro Exchange Securities and has issued subpoenas for Banco Internacional Bank in Puerto Rico, a company linked to the same network.

▪Informed sources who asked not to be named said the review process is not public. A spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice, referring to a policy of neither confirming nor denying ongoing investigations, declined to comment.
