Turkey’s foreign minister: We are ready to provide technical and military support to Saudi Arabia

🔸Hakan Fidan, Turkey’s foreign minister, said that if Saudi Arabia needs technical or military help in response to the escalation of clashes with the Houthis, Turkey is ready to meet those needs.

🔸Fidan said on Saturday evening, 28 Shahrivar, in a televised interview that Saudi Arabia has been facing serious attacks against its territorial integrity and sovereignty, and that Turkey stands in solidarity with this country within the framework of the “Mecca Alliance.”

🔸He added that bringing Saudi Arabia into a war between Iran and the United States is “unacceptable,” and Riyadh also has no intention of entering this conflict.

🔸Turkey’s foreign minister also said that the “Mecca Alliance” was formed with the aim of finding regional solutions to regional problems and is open for other countries in the region to join.

🔸These remarks come as clashes between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-supported Houthis in Yemen have intensified in recent weeks, and attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure have increased.

🔸The “Mecca Alliance” is a three-party defense agreement between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, signed this summer. Under it, an armed attack on one of the three countries is considered an attack on all member states.

🔸Hakan Fidan said Egypt could be among the next options for membership in this alliance.
