🔶 Trump: If talks make progress, it is “very unlikely” that there will be renewed attacks on Iran
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, told CNN on Sunday that as long as negotiations concerning Tehran’s nuclear program and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz are making progress, it is “very unlikely” that he would be forced to issue an order for the United States to enter the war with Iran again. In his interview with CNN, he repeated this position five times.
Trump, who made these remarks in a phone call in a 20-minute interview with Jim Sciutto, a CNN reporter, pointed to the situation of the war with Iran and said: “It depends on whether they sign a very strong agreement or not. The answer is that it is very unlikely that such a thing would be necessary. They’re a country that’s falling apart.”
He continued: “It was announced only recently—you saw that inflation this year is 301 percent. It is very unlikely that such an action would be necessary. If it is necessary, I will do it, but we hit them very hard. I dealt such a hard blow to them that you don’t even know how hard it was.”
Trump added: “So it is very unlikely that I would be forced to do such a thing. They are financially deteriorating. We have hit them militarily. We can finish their work.”
