Donald Trump, the U.S. president, announced that he has appointed Katie Bailey as the Director of the Office of Legislative Affairs.
Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social that Bailey is currently the deputy director of legislative affairs for the Senate and has played a role in the confirmation process for a number of members of his Cabinet.
According to Mr. Trump, Bailey previously also worked in the U.S. Congress and is familiar with how the executive and legislative branches cooperate.
She will replace James Breid, whom Donald Trump said will leave the government to work in the private sector after a long time in this post.
Mr. Trump also said that he expects Bailey to work closely with Congress and to try to get the administration’s bills approved.
