The U.S. Secretary of State will begin a trip to India and Uzbekistan on Saturday and will discuss the expansion of energy cooperation in India.

The U.S. State Department announced that Marco Rubio will travel from October 25 to 30 to Samarkand in Uzbekistan and Mumbai and Jammu Nagar in India, and will meet with government officials in India.

Trade talks between the two countries stalled again this month. New Delhi is concerned about a legal measure in the United States that would allow tariffs of up to 100% to be imposed on buyers of Russian energy.

Relations between the two countries have been tense over the past year.

In Uzbekistan, Rubio will meet with officials from five Central Asian countries, and a delegation of more than 200 business managers will accompany him.
