🔻Three explosions heard in Riyadh; Saudi Arabia reports intercepting a Houthi missile
Agence France-Presse reported that in the early hours of Sunday, October 25, three explosions were heard in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
According to the agency’s reporter in Riyadh, before the explosions were heard, residents received warning messages about an “hostile air threat” that asked them to take shelter in a safe place.
Meanwhile, a military coalition led by Saudi Arabia said that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis in Yemen toward Riyadh.
It is not yet clear whether the reported explosion sounds were the result of the missile’s interception. No report has been published on potential damage or casualties.
These developments come as the Houthis in Yemen have increased their attacks on Saudi Arabia’s airports and oil facilities in recent days, and have warned that they will continue these attacks.
