⚡Alongside President Trump’s warning about the possibility of a renewed military attack on the Islamic Republic, Reuters reported that Qatari mediators, coordinated with the United States, have traveled to Tehran in an effort to reduce regional tensions.
According to Reuters, an official familiar with the diplomatic developments said that, as part of efforts to reduce tensions, Qatari mediators are in Tehran in coordination with the United States. The official did not provide further details about negotiations and any possible meetings between the Qatari mediators and officials of the Islamic Republic.
The development comes as President Trump on Saturday, 2 Aban, in response to a question about the likelihood of a fresh military attack on the Islamic Republic, said: “There is a possibility that I would do that. There is also the possibility that we reach an agreement.”
The U.S. president also, while referring to the Islamic Republic’s desire for an agreement, questioned the regime’s commitment to any potential deal and emphasized that the final decision—whether to continue military action or to achieve an agreement—will depend on the Islamic Republic.
