The Wall Street Journal: Iranian diplomats initially welcomed Oman’s mediation proposal over the Strait of Hormuz, but Tehran has since demanded the right to collect shipping fees that could be shared with Oman, along with assurances against renewed attacks, an end to the U.S. naval blockade, and relief from oil-related sanctions.

Regional senior officials said that the United States and regional governments have rejected Iran’s request to receive shipping fees and want assurances that Iran and its allied groups will not pose a threat to their territories.
