🔻The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia asks its non-essential employees to leave the country
The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia says that its government has asked non-essential employees and members of their families to leave the country as of October 23 (1 Aban) due to security risks.
In a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia, published a few hours ago, it said that following the missile and drone attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on Saudi airports, U.S. government employees will, until further notice, require special authorization to use any airport in this country.
The statement also noted that the Houthis’ attacks on airports and other critical infrastructure in Saudi Arabia have led to civilian deaths and severe disruptions to air travel, and warned that hostilities could quickly escalate.
