South Korea’s national security adviser said that the country is still reviewing various options for a possible presence in the Strait of Hormuz, including sending a maritime patrol aircraft, but the deployment of combat forces is off the agenda.
According to Reuters, Vi Sung-lak, on Thursday, said in a supervisory session of one of the South Korean parliament’s committees that Seoul is still in talks with Washington about possible options.
He stressed that the deployment of combat forces, in line with the position previously announced by Lee Jae-myung, president of South Korea, has been removed from the agenda.
