In a report published early Monday, 12 Mordad, Iran time, the New York Post wrote, citing two sources opposed to the Islamic Republic inside Iran, that dissatisfaction caused by the execution of protesters, the economic crisis, and the continued war have brought conditions to a point, according to them, where at any moment a new uprising could begin.

As the newspaper wrote, opposition activists are reviewing the experience of the protests of Dey 1404 and rethinking ways of organizing. These sources cited the bloody crackdown on those protests and the killing of thousands as the main factor behind the delay in the start of the next round of protests.

The New York Post also, citing these sources, claimed that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps uses foreign forces and teenagers to control cities. According to the newspaper, the increase in executions, inflation, shortages of water and electricity, and the worsening economic conditions have intensified public anger, and opponents of the Islamic Republic believe that any incident could ignite the start of a nationwide uprising.
