The Wall Street Journal reported that pressure from some countries on the Persian Gulf coast and progress by mediators were among the main factors behind U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to halt a planned attack against the Islamic Republic.

Israel’s Channel 12 also, citing two diplomats, reported that Abbas Araghchi’s agreement with Qatar’s proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz was one of the factors that helped stop the attack.
