The Moldovan Foreign Ministry condemned an unidentified drone’s violation of the country’s airspace, which exploded after entering.

Based on a statement by Moldovan officials, the drone entered the airspace of this country on Monday evening and, shortly afterward, exploded near a village near the border with Ukraine.

In a statement, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry said: “This incident is a serious violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova, and such incidents are unacceptable.”

The ministry added: “The aggressive war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine continues to have direct consequences for the security of the Republic of Moldova.”

The Ukrainian Air Force said the object was the Russian “Banderol” missile drone that took off from the Odesa region, crossed the border, and entered Moldova’s airspace.
